Camden – New Jersey - Culture

Even the casual visitor will find reason to pause and appreciate the city's colorful tapestry woven of yesterday's treasures and today's creative energy. The beauty of Camden can be found in the neighborhoods, on the buildings, in the subway. Painted murals abound throughout the city. The intersection of Haddon and Mt. Ephraim Avenues stands out as a colorful homage to the rich ethnic heritage of the neighborhood.

Outdoor sculptures adorn the public buildings of Camden, while the silent figures in Harleigh Cemetery watch silently as new names are added to its list of individuals who have added their piece to the city's heritage.

Hidden under your feet, in the PATCO High Speed line's Broadway Station, between Mickle and Federal Streets, are murals, visible from the platform, tucked behind the escalator, telling part of Camden's story.
