Today, Madison is one of the fastest growing cities in the
southeastern United States, with one of the highest per capita incomes. For over 30 years, Chase Industrial park has attracted manufacturing and assembly plants,
and processing, warehousing and wholesale distribution operations. Located in northeast Madison County, this 1,700-acre park is a development of
the Madison County Commission and offers railroad access. It is home to more than 35 domestic and international companies with products ranging
from missile and space vehicle components to compact discs to copper and plastic products to street sweeping machines, precision high-speed
punch presses and pharmaceuticals.
Residents include Disc Manufacturing, Bruderer, Available Plastics, J&J South Central and PPG Industries. In the past 18 months, 455 acres
in Chase have been sold for a new pharmaceutical plant, a Huntsville Utilities electric service center and a trucking company and new facility
expansion at Mesker Door. There are currently 100 acres available for development.
Thornton Research Park Located near the internationally recognized Cummings Research Park (CRP), Thornton is a
new research applications park offering 400 acres for development. Besides being located near the 160 high-tech research and development
companies in CRP, Thornton is also closely situated to Redstone Arsenal's U.S. Army Missile Command and NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
This park is owned by the University of Alabama in Huntsville Foundation, and is intended as a complement to Cummings Research Park to allow for
light manufacturing and production work
The Aquatic Garden is a formal circular garden located at the southern terminus of the Perennial Garden. The main focus is the large round pool
bisected by the Aquatic Pavilion. The pavilion consist of an impressive central structure, traditional in style, connected to shore by pathways
covered by pergolas. Located near the US Space and Rocket Center, the Madison County (Alabama) Botanical Garden merges the timeless beauty of
nature with the technology of the surrounding scientific community. Come explore the beautiful specialty gardens, visit our new Exhibit Hall and
participate in a variety of educational opportunities. Paths meander through the shady woodlands of the Dogwood Trail and wildflowers quietly
populate the Nature Trail. Rose, daylily, herb, and butterfly gardens rival or surpass those of older, more mature botanical gardens. Maple
trees line a promenade which encircles a glistening reflecting pool
The Port of Huntsville-Madison is an inland port comprised of Huntsville International Airport, the International Intermodal Center and Jetplex
Industrial Park.
The Jetplex Industrial Park is located immediately adjacent to the Huntsville International Airport and offers Foreign Trade Zone #83, the International Intermodal Center, U.S.
Customs Port of Entry and interstate access via 1-565. The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority manages the park, which contains 1,700
acres and 22 corporate residents.
Jetplex is home to several electronics companies supporting DaimlerChrysler Corporation's "Just-in-Time" manufacturing facility, which
is located in the park. It is also home to high-tech companies Boeing and Raytheon, and electronics-manufacturers .
