wilderness areas. A
world of adventure waits for you in Burnaby's many parks. There are small
neighbourhood parks, witch offers rest from the city life. The park
“Deer Lake” provides endless opportunities for exploration. And areas
such as Central Park offer an array of sports and recreation facilities
for all ages. Central Park is situated on
the Burnaby side of Boundary Road, the dividing line between Vancouver and
Burnaby. Enjoy here activities like tennis, cycling, picnicking, jogging,
pitch-and-putt or wandering
about.
The
mountain of Burnaby is its tallest landmark. The Burnaby River Trail is
optimal for hiking and walking. You
can also visit the astonishing Playground of the Gods. You’ll find the beach at Burnaby's Fraser River Park, at the south end of Byrne Road off Marine Drive in Burnaby.
This
city offers many activities: tennis courts, golfing, fishing, boating,
wildlife sanctuary, and cultural facilities like museums (Burnaby Village
Museum & the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology), theatre, shopping
and dining. The Century Gardens is
amazing, hundreds of Rhododendrons, Burnaby's official flower, burst into
bloom each spring during the annual Rhododendron Festival. A special event here in
December is the Burnaby Village Museum Heritage Christmas. There
are numerous motels and hotels, as well as bed and breakfast places and RV
parks for campers for everyone. |
